So I'm trying out this thing where I replaced all the app icons in my Dock with these ones I made yesterday and today. All have different colors, and each has their own recognizable shape. Much easier to parse than the mess of current app icon styling.
Finder, Mail, Safari, Messages
iTunes, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote
Flint, Twitter, Transmit Droplet, iOS Simulator
Unfortunately, the current OS X Dock kind of ruins this experiment. And the 2D Dock in Mavericks is now only available on the left and right of the screen, and is not at all customizable as it is now drawn in code. :(
